Job Overview

The Tap Room / FOH Manager will be one of the most important positions at the brewery and will have direct responsibilities as the primary customer-facing position in the tap room and other public spaces. This position requires a leadership-driven individual who works under a range of circumstances, including some weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded tap room, and ultimately curating a high level of enjoyment for customers in our public facilities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Assisting the General Manager with daily schedule for Tap Room (TR) employees at a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Overseeing the TR (setting up and closing down cash drawers, ensuring that all public spaces are clean and ready for patrons, directing part-time employees on restocking/ordering any necessary supplies, and addressing any unforeseen needs)

Ensuring that the beers on tap are acceptable to serve (right temperature, optimal quality, no off-smells or flavors)

Creating and maintaining a pleasant environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct)

Planning and executing special events in the TR.

Working with ownership and marketing team to properly market the TR.

Managing food truck schedules, catering (for special events), and creating and maintaining relationships with local food establishments that deliver to the TR.

Maintaining accurate TR inventory (glassware, crowlers, etc.)

Training new employees and maintaining ongoing education related to taproom operations and products.

Serving as team leader to part-time staff and assistant managers.

Representing the BSB brand at all times.

Requirements

• Available to work full-time (40 hrs/week), including some Friday nights and some Saturdays/Sundays based on time of year. Regular off days during the rest of the week will be provided based on schedule.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated history of leadership
• Prior bar/restaurant management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of craft beer, including a solid understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred)
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people
• Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems and other web-based / MS

Compensation

Based on experience. Compensation includes a base salary plus variable compensation based on goal achievement. Other incentives include phone allowance, mileage reimbursement, and 401k matching plan. PTO that increases with tenure is also available for all full-time employees.
