Taproom Beertender & Cellar Support Job at Altamont Beer Works
Reports to: Taproom Manager
FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Take orders from patrons for beer, merchandise, food or other non-alcoholic beverages;
requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Engage customers and answer questions; educate guests on our beer and brand
- Inform guests of daily specials, upcoming events or beer releases, scheduled food
- Maintain Altamont’s beer service standards and minimize product waste
- Monitor Taproom cleanliness including all guest facing areas, restrooms, office space
- Demonstrate the highest integrity of fiduciary responsibilities through money handling
- Prepare Growlers, Crowlers and preorders accordingly
- Maintain working knowledge of the descriptions of each beer menu item, including basic
- Ensure each guest is treated with the best possible customer service
- Immediately report any customer concern to the Taproom Manager or Assistant
- Complete all necessary side work as laid out in the duties expectation list behind the bar
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- An interest and love of craft beer
- Strong customer service skills and friendly personality
- Possesses the desire to serve guests exceptionally in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate professionalism, collaborate with Taproom Team, and be independently
- Ability to remain calm under pressure or when dealing with disgruntled customers
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with Management at all times
- Ability to be a strong team player and get along well with co-workers
- Ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities
- Must be punctual, have good attendance, and a reliable means of transportation to work
Education & Experience:
- Customer service experience in a retail, quick-service restaurant environment, taproom,
- Advanced computer knowledge, specifically POS system (Square), Homebase, Gmail,
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to produce a California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire
- Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
preferred
Work Environment:
- Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- Work environment involves moderate exposure to physical risks, such as operating
- Occasionally exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions;
- Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other
reproductive harm may be present at the worksite

- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- This position will require you to stand, walk, and be on your feet for long periods
- Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions
- Regularly communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
