Rodney V. Melton Public Accountant & Associates is seeking a Tax Accountant Assistant to join our team. We are looking to add a Tax Assistant to work with Tax Accountants for individual, corporate, partnership and estate tax return preparation. Rodney V. Melton Public Accountant & Associates specialize in taxation, accounting, audits, and consulting for individuals, businesses, and farms. Our main focus at Rodney V. Melton Public Accountant & Associates is providing exceptional personal service to our clients.

Position Description

The Tax Accountant Assistant will work with Tax Accountants to conduct an in-depth interview with clients to obtain all required information and materials to complete the tax return. This individual will establish rapport with clients to build working relationships and increase retention. All tax returns are prepared utilizing the information provided by the clients and are keyed into tax software. Must be proactive to ensure deadlines and the needs of clients are met. Provide support to team members and positively contribute to the office culture and client experience. This position is an excellent fit for an accounting or business major seeking tax experience within a growing firm.

Specific Responsibilities

· Must be able to greet clients with a positive, helpful attitude

· Assist in preparing individual, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns

· Draft client correspondence and other formal documents to IRS and State

· Organize and maintain client data base and client files

· Provide exceptional customer service

· Maintain confidentiality with personal and sensitive data

· Continue ongoing education by participating in webinars, workshops, and seminars

· Able to work in fast paced environment

· Detailed orientated

· Ability to research tax issues

· Dependable

· Self motivated to complete tasks w/o supervision oversight

· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced technology skills using QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel

· Lacerte Tax Software experience a plus

· Desire to grow and advance through continued education

· Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time positions available

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
