The Team Lead’s primary responsibilities are coordinating, managing, and providing direction for one or more work cells in planning and executing production schedules to meet production goals and support customer needs.

  • Manage, monitor, and control department and or cell performance in the following areas: on-time production, throughput time, product flow, process layout, customer satisfaction, safety, and quality.
  • Communicate to management and to meet production goals promptly.
  • Provide timely and ongoing coaching on employee performance.
  • Provide short and medium-range planning to execute department or cell production objectives, including overtime and resource allocations.
  • Maintain the feedback loop with internal customers including process issues, priorities, purchasing, shipping/receiving/inspection.
  • Maintain positive communication within and across departments.
  • Schedule the daily activities of people, machines, and production requirements.
  • Provide employee leadership through encouragement and support of employee understanding of company goals and manufacturing strategies.
  • Administer all guidelines to ensure we are working in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Create, review and complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Implement lean process improvements.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition by performing daily organization and cleanup of the work area.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement.
  • Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Assistant in other areas as business necessitates.

As a Team Lead, YOU WILL:

  • First level HR support and contact for Cold Chain Eden Prairie, MN location.
  • Conducts Operations hourly and temporary personnel recruitment efforts including interviews, assists with selection, and determines compensation for candidates.
  • Facilitates new employee orientations and onboarding.
  • Assembles HR statistics monthly; turnover, headcount, safety, recruiting, etc.
  • Establishes and manages Oracle HRIS, Oracle Recruit, and Oracle Learn information systems.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Coordinates and/or develops and delivers training to all employees as appropriate.
  • Tracks mandated and voluntary training for all employees.
  • Coordinates the performance management program annually.
  • Prepares and maintains employee handbook.
  • Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. ·
  • Delivers presentations regarding human resources policies and practices.
  • Administers tuition reimbursement program.
  • Creates and/or maintains job descriptions and organization charts.
  • Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Administers leave of absence.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining a positive safety culture.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
  • 1-2 years experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Quality inspection experience.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • MS office skills.
  • Job skills commensurate with the tasks they are leading.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Basic Computer and Math skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Strong stress management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail (counting, verification, and filling out documentation).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write fluent English.
  • Ability to work in a Team environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of ESD and moisture-sensitive requirements.
  • Understanding of polarity, orientation, and IPC 610 Class 2 standards.
  • IPC 610 Class 2 soldering skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to move around the floor and interact with different departments.
  • The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Required to walk while carrying trays, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Schedule

The work schedule is four 10-hour days, Monday - Thursday with overtime on Fridays. Some mandatory Fridays may be required. The position is part of Emerson's Commercial & Residential Platform located at Emerson Digital Cold Chain, Inc. at 12001 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Our teams work together to ensure their chosen work schedules are supporting our customers.
