The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing curriculum, organizing and facilitates instructional training that fosters technical and leadership knowledge for PFA and OTIS employees. Technical instruction may include disciplines in the areas of controls, automation, information technology, operational technology, information systems, and leadership training. Technical training is accomplished through classroom and hands on training that ensures student engagement and experience through practice applications.Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and conduct technical training programs.
  • Assess & deploy training for personnel needs and certification requirements.
  • Prepare training material and classroom agenda.
  • Conduct presentations using a variety of training methods.
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Present on subject matter and content relevant to the construction industry
  • Assist the Training Coordinator in accordance with business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops.

Secondary Responsibilities/Collaboration with Training Coordinator

  • Track Vendor Certification requirements to maintain partner accreditation
  • Watch for and suggest new training opportunities and attending conferences
  • Assist with Home Base Certification Process for team members on a certification path; ensures accountability for team members
  • Ensure HB team members have appropriate training to meet customers' technology and needs

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year college or university in Education is preferred or Associate degree (A. A.) from a two college with relative background in Engineering, Instrumentation, or Electrical Construction.

3-5 years experience preferred in adult training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position will require excellent public speaking ability and an ease in moderating small and large groups.
This position requires excellent leadership and communication skills, a commitment to employee and self-development and operational knowledge of databases and spreadsheets.

Individual must be located in Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux Center, IA
