Job Summary

African Ancestry (https://africanancestry.com/) is looking for a Technology Operations Manager to manage and coordinate information technology operations of the company to ensure delivery of timely and effective technology services.

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement and manage standard operating procedure for company's technological interactions
  • Must have ecommerce experience
  • Maintain software used by all team members and vendors
    • Implement updates as necessary
    • Act as troubleshooting resource
    • Identify ways to improve team functionality using software
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and maintain:
    • Audience Transaction Platforms
    • Audience Data Platforms
    • SMS and Email Marketing Software
  • Work closely with Data Analytics to develop and maintain:
    • Data Management & Migrations Systems
    • Current systems
    • Phase out legacy systems
  • Provide periodic team training on new features and programs
  • Communicate with engineers as needed and monitor tasks and their progress
  • Work with Customer Operations Manager in order and fulfillment
  • Make recommendations to improve technology infrastructure
  • Other assigned duties

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Practical problem solving, attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, strong multi-tasking, highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have proven experience with all Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to identify and address issues and areas of improvement and can work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization (IT, engineering, or related field) or commiserate experience.
  • At least 2 – 5 years of related experience preferred.
