Temporary Part-time: SSS Mentor- English Job at Camden City Campus
$25 an hour
- Provide mentorship, academic review, tutoring, and referral services to students in a group or individual setting.
- Teaching skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions
- . Advise students on academic matters, through individual meetings, workshops, small group sessions, and seminars.
- Developing and distributing teaching materials to supplement classroom lessons, including study guides
- Conducting practice tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
- Providing students positive and constructive feedback
- Facilitate study sessions and workshops for participants in target population and maintain participant sign-in logs.
- Attend Student Support Services staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Able to commit to 6 hours per week for at least one academic year.
- Ability to work as a part of a cross-functional team in an innovative environment.
- Experience working with undergraduates using innovative seminar delivery methods, student-centered techniques, and delivery of real-world experiences for students are highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population, specifically students who are low-income, first-generation and students with disabilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy
