Position Summary:

The Division of Population Health Sciences is accepting applications for Temporary Research Professionals. This temporary position is part-time and will perform work remotely. Qualified applicants for this position will be placed into a hiring pool, for the academic year 2022 - 2023, from which professionals will be hired. Acceptance into the hiring pool does not constitute an offer of a contract.

Duties:

100Working on a funded project under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. Will perform research duties part-time under the direction or supervision of a faculty member. Will assist with recruitment, data collection, and ongoing project data management.Essential
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to work independently with general instruction. Has an interest in health issues among women with disabilities. Positive interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage participant interviews, including participant recruitment, interview scheduling and conducting, and organizing and managing interview data.

Typical Experience:
Good communication skills demonstrated in interactions with peers and supervisors. Personal or professional experience in working with people with disabilities, equivalent to 6 or more months.

Required Education or Training:

Training and/or experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience organizing and managing Zoom meetings.



Salary Information:

This is a part-time, temporary, remote work position. Grade 76, $18.18 hourly.

About the Division of Population Health Sciences:
The Division of Population Health Sciences is the academic home to the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Program (BSHS), the Master of Public Health Program (MPH). Its mission is to advance health sciences through the educational opportunities of academic training, research, and community service in order to improve the well-being of the diverse peoples of Alaska and the circumpolar north. Institute for Circumpolar Health Studies (ICHS) is a small, applied health research unit within the Division. Research at ICHS addresses health outcomes, determinants, policies and interventions that are important to the people of Alaska and other circumpolar regions. Alaska’s rural and multicultural environment calls for a multidisciplinary approach to defining health problems and identifying appropriate solutions.
