Job Summary: Works in a utility capacity, by transferring from one task to another, monitoring and maintaining terrain features in the freestyle parks and other locations where applicable. Acts as host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness education, Freestyle Terrain Park etiquette and guest relations

Job Details:

  • Seasonal, full-time and part-time positions available supporting Palisades Tahoe Terrain Park
  • Starts at $20 hourly and ranges to 20.50 hourly for Lead Park Attendants
  • Role will frequently exposed to outside winter weather conditions

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Provide guests with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Install and maintain park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing and banner tape.
  • Monitor terrain features by visual inspection and testing according to company policy.
  • Maintain ongoing monitoring and maintenance of terrain features and equipment in the parks.
  • Assist with special events including erection and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in user education and training.
  • Keep skiers and riders moving through park.
  • Assist Patrol with crowd control in the event of an injury.
  • Assist with special events set-up and tear-down. Works late as necessary.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required:

  • Effective communication skills, oral & written
  • Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards
  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Must be an advanced skier or snowboarder

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Previous Terrain Park Attendant experience.
  • EMT or First Aid training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, smell, and ski. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 80lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions, include extreme cold and blizzard like conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Skis/snowboard, rakes, shovels, other equipment
