Southern Wisconsin Center (SWC) is recruiting to fill one (1) full-time and four (4) part-time Therapy Assistant positions located in Union Grove.

SWC is a state operated Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. SWC provides a wide variety of programs and services designed to assist and prepare individuals to live successfully in the setting that best meets their needs. Work schedules available are:

  • Full-time schedule is 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday.
  • 2 PM Shifts (60% FTE = 24 hours/week)
    • Week 1: Sunday working 4 hours; Monday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm
    • Week 2: Monday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Friday 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm
  • 1 PM Shift (60% FTE = 24 hours/week)
    • Week 1: Tuesday – Friday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Saturday working 4 hours
    • Week 2: Monday – Thursday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm; Friday 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm
  • 1 Friday PM/Weekend AM Shift (40% FTE = 16 hours/week)
    • Saturday & Sunday working 6.5 hours; Friday 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Position Summary


These positions plan, implement and coordinate a variety of active treatment, rehabilitative, basic skill development programs, which stimulates and encourages cooperation and participation of residents in a wide variety of day service related activities.

Salary Information


The starting salary is $20.37 per hour, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule and range is 06/12. A 12 month probationary period is required.

Job Details


All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

Employees are required to provide documentation of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by their start date. Exceptions will be granted to those who obtain an approved medical or religious accommodation or those who provide documentation requiring a delay in receiving the vaccine.

**State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy:

  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Minimum of two year's driving experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Additionally, the driving record must not reflect the following conditions:

  • 3 or more moving violations (with point reductions) and/or at fault accidents in the past 2 years
  • An OWI or DUI violation within the past 12 months
  • A suspension or revocation of the driver's license

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

  • Training and/or experience planning, implementing, and/or coordinating vocational and recreational activities
  • Experience completing documentation and/or creating reports
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy to drive a state vehicle.**

Well-qualified applicants will also have the following:

  • Experience working directly with individuals with mental health disorders, physical disabilities, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
