The Resiliency Support and Outreach Coordinator specializes in providing culturally sensitive and relevant training and support for external partners who are offering local assistance to program participants engaging in behaviors that may pose risk such as drug and alcohol use. These external partners include health clinics, prevention staff, Tribal Support Organizations and/or Tribal Nations as a whole. The Resiliency Support and Outreach Coordinator will also be tasked with researching, communicating, and developing materials outlining the unique context and burden of alcohol and substance misuse in the American Indian/Alaska Native populations within our region.

The Resiliency Support and Outreach Coordinator is an exempt position requiring occasional travel and irregular work hours, with a starting salary of $51,500.00 per year.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Resiliency Support and Outreach Coordinator you will be a key component of support, training and treatment for American Indian/Alaska Native populations in our region. This includes developing an expansive recovery support toolkit, training local peer recovery support field staff, identifying potential stakeholders, and consulting on programmatic efforts aimed at reducing the burden and risk of alcohol and substance abuse in various age groups. In addition, the Resiliency Support Specialist provides collaboration, education and training to program staff and external partners on topics related to substance misuse and recovery.
Other key job functions and responsibilities include:
- Creating high level, culturally relevant models and guidelines relating to alcohol and substance misuse
- Train & educate local stakeholders and develop a peer recovery coalition
- Develop and support the implementation of culturally appropriate sobriety programs
- Develop and communicate materials that provide details on the burden of disease within American Indian/Alaska Native populations
- Act as a guide and support mechanism for health clinics within the 33 USET Tribal Nations
- Support behavioral health and mental health providers with recommendations on non-clinical care
- Work with local communities and health clinics to establish and maintain support groups, outreach and prevention activities, and programmatic efforts related to alcohol and substance abuse recovery in all age groups
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or 5+ year experience in behavioral health, substance abuse counseling, social work or equivalent.
2. Licensed or credentialed in behavioral health, substance abuse counseling, social work or equivalent.
3. Experience as a recovery support specialist or mentor.
4. Knowledge of grant funding and grants management.
5. Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with numerous participants.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse or multi-disciplinary teams.
7. Possess excellent verbal and written communication and strong organizational skills.
8. High level of proficiency in technical writing
9. Proficient with software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
10. Proficient with video meeting software, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and GoToMeeting.
11. Cultural sensitivity and respect for the customs and traditions of Tribal nations.
12. Ability to travel and work irregular hours as needed.
