Just in Time Staffing is searching for a DIRECT HIRE, TOOL & DIE MAKER, to join a very stable manufacturing company in Lorain, OH. We are looking for a results oriented, hands on Tool and Die Maker that is looking to advance their career. Automotive experience is plus!! These are 2nd shift positions.

Purpose

Responsible for performing manufacture, repair, and maintenance to progressive dies and rebuild or repair tooling to support production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform die maintenance using tool room equipment and hand tools.

Layout and perform center drilling, reaming, lapping, tapping, countersinking, and counter boring.

Machine parts to blueprint specifications

Fabricate and/or repair dies for production.

Layout existing die sections and make replacements as needed.

Make in press repairs of tooling.

Document and record various data for the department.

Drive hi-lo and operate a crane to transport dies for maintenance or installation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent, plus formal training leading to Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker and/ or equivalent on the job experience.

5 plus years of related work experience

Competencies

Strong Mechanical ability and problem solving skills sufficient to perform fabrication and build activities.

Blueprint reading.

Knowledge of cutting, forming, milling, grinding, assembly, tool steel composition, tool sharpening, hardness testing , machine repair, set-up, and metal fabrication.

Operates basic metrology instruments, grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, optical comparator, and EDM machine.

Ability to calculate speeds, feeds and perform machine offsets.

Computer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks required.

Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.

Ability to work effectively with people.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $37.00 per hour
