Tool Maker

A plastics manufacturing company in Schiller Park, IL is looking for a 1st shift Tool / Mold Maker to join their team. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity!

Requirements of the Tool Maker

· 4+ years of plastic injection mold building experience

· Journeyman Tool and Die Maker

· Experience with CAM Systems, CNC mills, and EDM

· Mastercam, Solid Works, Charmilles, and Okuma machine experience is a plus

· Aptitude, abilities, and skill set to produce high-quality molds

· Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering designs and computer-based CAD plans and models

· Familiarity with manual machining operations

· Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other manufacturing-related equipment

Responsibilities of the Tool Maker

· Build new molds and perform repairs on production molds

· Operate all tool room equipment safely and efficiently, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs

· Interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerance

· Analyze tool designs and make recommendations for modifications regarding construction and function of molds

· Ensure injection molds are fully prepared for qualification in molding machine

· Utilize software to examine 3D mold designs during the build and assembly of complex molds

· Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances, using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gage blocks, thickness gages, and micrometers

· Communicate tool issues with Tooling Manager and department leads

· Perform mold troubleshooting and maintenance, when required

Schedule is 1st shift, DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $40.00 - $45.00 an hour, depending on experience
