The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine is a skilled nursing facility that comprises of a Transitional Care Unit (TCU), Long-Term Care (LTC) and memory care.

Our care community is searching for Trained Medication Aides/Certified Nursing Assistants (TMA/CNA) to join our team of dedicated caregivers. We’re looking for a caring, compassionate, experienced professional who loves taking care of people. We're looking for you!

Position:

• Full-Time: Evenings
• Part-Time: Days or Evenings
• Premium Pay Positions available - Work three 12 hour shifts per week and receive $6/hour in addition to your base wage!

Responsibilities and duties:

• Administer medications to residents under the general supervision of a licensed nurse
• Cares for residents of facility as directed by licensed staff
• Meets social, physical and emotional needs as outlined in care plan
• Communicates observations and relevant information to licensed nursing staff
• Bathing and dressing residents as needed
• Assisting with personal and dental hygiene
• Assisting with lifting/positioning/transferring residents into and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Assisting with meals

Qualifications and skills:

• Valid CNA license
• Successfully completed a medication administration training program which is offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution
• Excellent communication skills
• Good team player

The fee for the class is $800, which includes the cost for the class and materials. Testing costs not included. Class and test costs are reimbursed within the first three months of employment, if hired in a skilled nursing facility. If offered a position at The Lutheran Home, your $800 check will not be cashed and will be returned to you upon receiving certification and fulfilling three months of employment.
