Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain living training guidance (documentation, tools, resources) for employees and volunteers that orient them to their specific role, team, program, and related responsibilities.
  • Provide orientation sessions for new employees that outline DLEC expectations, job duties, and structure orientation to the site/organization/ tools/ technology/ databases/ resources.
  • Monitor employees training progress and ensure compliance and completion of training required.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to orient new employees to and support existing employees' use of the tools and resources relevant to their positions. Identify opportunities to cultivate collaboration and grow internal capacity through cross-training.
  • Provide regular opportunities for employees to connect and encourage information-sharing, build Inter-Agency support, and cultivate a sense of community.
  • Assess staff’s skills, performance, and productivity to identify areas of improvement and create opportunities to help facilitate staff growth.
  • Utilize industry best practices, data analysis, and team input to build out training supports that increase program efficacy, and individual capacity and support professional development.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and facilitating of the implementation of group training and regular training periods such as a preservice week(s).
  • Assist in the selection, formulation, and dissemination of materials related to professional development in coordination with leadership and management teams.
  • Develop a collection of training sessions for staff to attend and build an annual training budget.
  • Stay up to date on best practices from the field.
  • Assess the needs of the organization, implement continuous training and development plans, and facilitate a wide variety of training programs that enhance the effectiveness of the workforce.
  • Prepare, enter, and accurately maintain information in data systems and provide regular reporting.
  • Adhere to all city, state, federal, and Early/Head Start/Step Ahead requirements relating to program operation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of internal policies and procedures related to training, onboarding, or policies or procedures that intersect with training capacities
  • Coordinate group training where possible to maximize efficiency.

Skills, Competencies & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years of experience in providing training support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Bilingual in English and another language (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Somali, or Vietnamese) preferred.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and daily access to a personal, legally licensed vehicle with proof of current automobile insurance.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required.

The salary range for this position is $26.54/hr - $32.91/hr. The starting pay range is: $26.54 - $29.72 hourly, DOE

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Physical Demands: To perform the job the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, balance, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms.
Working Conditions: The work is typically performed in an early childhood school environment, with moderate to loud noise levels. Travel to other site locations is needed.
