Job Purpose

To assist the Tufting Manager by servicing and monitoring Tufting Machines performance and ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviews the operation of Tufting equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
• When informed of non-conforming, poorly running equipment, move personnel appropriately to minimize the efficiency and quality effect of the product
• Communicate to the Tufting Manager and supervisors regularly to guarantee optimal Tufting Machine Performance and inform of any quality or mechanical concerns
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance and record all services performed on equipment
• Assure all team members have the resources, specialized training, and information to perform their job duties.
• Actively promotes and enforces job safety and procedures
• When the need arises, perform or delegate the performance of any of the various jobs or procedures within the department
• Ensure that department machinery and equipment is well maintained and repaired as needed
• Complete the appropriate paperwork needed to monitor and record equipment productivity, quality, and performance
• Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns
• Attend and/or conduct periodic departmental meetings
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma/GED required
• Experience: 5 years of job specific experience
• Courses/Certifications/Training: Mechanically proficient with Tufting Machine equipment
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with personal computers with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
