Job Summary:
The Ultra sound Technologist is responsible for performing imaging procedures under the direction of a physician using imaging modalities at a technical level not requiring constant supervision; performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative; assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required; performing patient services using imaging modalities, applying principles of imaging for technical quality, exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures, providing patient care.
Education:
- Graduate of radiologic technology, ultrasonography, or equivalent.
Certifications:
- BLS required
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered (RDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Sonography ARRT(S) or registry eligible with successful completion of the ARDMS or ARRT(S) registry within six months of employment required
- In addition to above, ARRT (R) preferred
- ARRT(S), ARDMS (RDMS), post-primary Sonography certification including but not limited to Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric Sonography, Pediatric Sonography preferred
- The Fetal Medicine Foundation USA: Nuchal Translucency Scan accreditation (NT) preferred
