Location: South Grafton - Full-time with rotating Saturdays 8:30 AM -12:15 PM

Summary

Reports to the Branch Manager or the Assignee. The Universal Banker II is responsible for conducting teller transactions and cash vault transactions in an accurate and timely manner. The incumbent is also responsible for the sales and servicing of all credit union products and services. The incumbent works with the operations and sales team to achieve personal goals in the areas of deposit growth, business relationship growth, and member relationship growth. The incumbent also maintains current knowledge of products, services, and current promotions. The incumbent is also responsible for providing operational support and exceptional member service while maintaining essential controls and safeguards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Open accounts for new members and prepare new account paperwork, applications and request the required identification
  • Identify the needs of new and existing members and offer appropriate services currently available
  • Provide additional information to members regarding promotions and new account options
  • Promote and upsell credit cards available through the credit union’s credit card vendor to existing and potential members
  • Assist in community awareness events to increase credit union’s outreach and foster new business opportunities
  • Answer questions and member concerns regarding checking and savings accounts
  • Proactively identify and inform members of account status deficiencies and disputed transactions while providing options to resolve
  • Process and post various deposit transactions and or loan payments; record information in the teller system and issue a receipt confirming the transaction

Physical Requirements

  • Normal physical requirements. Must be able to utilize typewriter, keyboard, adding machine and P.C.

Department Compliance:

  • Exercises authority in supervising staff in the absence of branch manager and assistant; assists in training, motivating staff and has input in evaluation of staff performance.
  • Assists with periodic staff meetings to ensure excellent communications with staff and other departments. Promotes TEAM philosophy in providing services to members.
  • Remains current on all regulatory and legal guidelines.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Cognitive Requirements

  • Includes, but is not limited to communicate thoughts clearly, perform basic math (figuring interest), detect details, interpret, remember short- and long-term information, research and organize.

Knowledge and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with at least 1 to 2 years of banking experience
  • Professional certificate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to speak and concisely
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently in order to accomplish tasks
  • Professional experience anticipating common member/customer concerns and analyzing current procedures and processes for available improvements
  • Experience in efficient personal organization and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Thoroughness and meticulous attention to detail while seeking to identify and correct banking errors
  • Ability to express written concepts clearly and concisely using correct banking forms and paperwork when required
  • Experience seeking to improve and develop new process and ideas related to daily banking tasks
