Exempt Role Salary Range: $45,000 - $48,000
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) Human Resources office is seeking a Staff Recruiter to join our Recruitment Team. The UTK Human Resources Office provides services to faculty, staff, student and temporary employees. Accountabilities
Recruitment Services
- Recruits, screens and refers qualified candidates to hiring departments for further consideration
- Partners with departments to provide guidance on the hiring process including explanation of recruitment-related policies and procedures, posting positions, candidate screening, interviewing strategies
- Counsels employees affected by reduction in force
- Communicates with candidates concerning specific vacancies, job qualifications, resume assistance, salary concerns and benefits information
- Extends job offers to new hires, processes new hire paperwork and coordinates on-boarding
Community partnerships
- Participates in community events such as career fairs, workshops, and assisted placement services
- Develops and facilitates training programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or comparable area of consideration and 2 years human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-cycle recruiting experience
- Experience recruiting in a higher education environment
- PHR, SPHR or other related certification
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of employment related federal & state law and EEOC regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and MS Office skills
- Ability to source and cultivate candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to be flexible/objective in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of IRIS (SAP) and Taleo (Oracle)
