Job Requirements

The successful candidate for this position will possess extensive automotive experience with self-management and organizational skills, along with a strong work ethic and team building skills to take our sales department to the next level! The Used Car Sales Manager is responsible for leading the pre-owned vehicle sales department which includes but is not limited to: sales operations, sales performance results, employee supervision, customer satisfaction, etc.

Additional job requirements:

  • CRM and VAuto experience
  • Be a positive, enthusiastic Team Leader with a GREAT attitude
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Used Car Sales Manager in a dealership setting
  • Verifiable Employment History required
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Make a monthly sales projection for the immediate 90-day sales period
  • Implement a consistent acquisition strategy for pre-owned vehicles
  • Manage reconditioning of purchased units and trade-ins
  • Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits
  • Forecast monthly with each salesperson to establish objectives in terms of the number and type of customers coming into the dealership, closing percentages in each category, time utilization, prospecting efforts, unit sales, and projected income
  • Meet with each salesperson daily to review yesterday’s results and today’s plan of action
  • Facilitate sales meetings, as needed
  • Facilitate pre-deliveries with the Service Manager
  • Provide on the job training for salespeople
  • Ensure that salespeople are following the established prospecting program to obtain optimum results
  • Review monthly commission sheets, productivity reports, salespersons’ monthly forecast, and profit performance with the GM/GSM
  • Maintain a balanced vehicle inventory and establish a program for moving vehicles in inventory over 60, 90 days
  • Ensure standards are maintained for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining vehicles
  • Ensure that every prospect is personally thanked while at the dealership
  • Monitor and manage performance of salesperson call productivity, task completion, lead follow-up, etc.
  • Implement and monitor factory standards and programs to achieve 100% Customer Satisfaction
