We're looking for:

The Valet Captain will serve as the initial contact between guests and the hotel. The Valet Captain is responsible for handling guest luggage, safe parking of guest vehicles, and retrieval of guest and patron vehicles. The Valet Captain will provide customer service support and guest recovery support to Valet attendants, as well as provide feedback for improvement.

The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Furthermore, they must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2+ years experience in private parking lot or hotel valet department.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to project a professional, friendly and courteous image to guest and patrons
  • Good people skills, able to communicate and work well with others.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to provide guest recovery and feedback to Valet attendants
  • Ability to lift and carry between 35 to 50 lbs., and to stand on feet for 8 hours at a time.

Job Requirements:

  • Responsible for the safe and timely delivery and retrieval of guest, resident and member’s vehicle from the parking lot. The ability to adhere to traffic regulations, speed limits, safety practices, and to secure all vehicles and keys.
  • Timely delivery and pick up of guest luggage. The ability to maneuver luggage carts around the hotel.
  • Project a professional, friendly and courteous image and recite any pertinent hotel information to guests or patrons.
  • Communicate with Front Desk regarding guest needs or special requests. Report all accident and incidents to Guest Relations immediately.
  • Provide general information and answer inquiries to hotel guests and is familiar with all hotel services, hours of operation, key hotel personnel, daily activities, and special functions.
  • Report to work on time and in a clean uniform. Refrain from fraternizing with guests and patrons of hotel during shift.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the drive and entrance to the hotel.
  • Provide leadership to Valet attendants and act as first point of contact for guest recovery related to the valet team

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
