Veterinary Assistant Job at Anamosa Veterinary Clinic
This position is to provide support to our veterinarians, provide quality care to patients and clients, and to work in a busy environment functioning together as a team. The position would require assisting doctors as they treat and examine patients, surgical prep/monitoring/recovery, filling prescriptions and entering charges, client communication, reception work, general cleaning and restocking of hospital supplies, close up duties, monitoring patients, administering medications under supervision, and other duties as directed by hospital team. We require teamwork, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Employee will also have the option to take on-call if able to stay within 20 minutes of the clinic. Duties include answering the emergency cell phone, communicating with clients and the doctor, assisting with emergency appointments, and taking care of hospitalized patients. We are a growing practice that want to encourage employees to use their passions to provide the best quality medicine and care possible. We truly believe in investing in our employees. Our practice recently started a program to grow technicians within our practice through the Penn Foster online program. Staff can apply for one of our Penn Foster Technician Program slots and have their tuition paid in full if application is accepted.
