Job duties include, but are not limited to:

The kennel tech is responsible for the care, feeding, medicating and cleaning of our patients in hospital, and our patients in the boarding facility. This job involves cleaning, laundry, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, and medicating. You are responsible for restocking hospital supplies, helping with post-operative patients, assisting doctors and assistants with animal restraint and exams. You will be responsible for proper recordkeeping of medications, special foods, appetite, behavior and any issue that may arise while the animal is in our care. You will be trained to clean and sterilize surgical instruments.

We are looking for someone with:

• Cleans and sanitizes all cages, runs, wards and related areas
• Mopping and sweeping entire hospital
• Gives baths (ordinary cleansing, flea, medicated) and performs whatever grooming may be necessary to the treatment and constant cleanliness of each animal
• Recognizes and records any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any hospitalized animal
• Feeds each animal as prescribed by the attending D.V.M. and records appetites, keeps kitchen area clean and neat
• Receives animals to be admitted for hospital care and is responsible for their proper identification and for recording their respective locations
• Releases animals to their owners as directed by the attending doctor and office manager and ensures that every animal released is clean and properly groomed
• Assists doctors, veterinary assistants, treatment assistants and other personnel with the administration of medications or with restraint

Job Type: Part-Time (less than 30 hours)

Schedule:

• Kennel tech: Saturday/Sunday typically 7:30 am- 8:45 am and 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm. *Hours may change slightly after daylight savings and how booked we are in the kennel.

Pay: $10 per hour
