Full Time or Part Time VeterinaryTechnician

The Veterinary Emergency Clinic is looking for experienced veterinary technicians wanting to utilize all their skills to work at the only veterinary facility in Western New York focused solely on emergency care. You will help pets when they need you the most! We are open 24/7, 365 days a year, and we would like you to join our highly dedicated team.

The Veterinary Emergency Clinic is located just minutes from the Buffalo Airport, and only one hour from Rochester. We have 2 surgical suites, digital radiography, and perform FAST ultrasound scans. All of our imaging studies are read by board certified radiologists.

Veterinary technicians may perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, peripheral sampling catheters, nursing care for hospitalized patients and post operative surgical patients, isolation and infectious disease patient handling, surgical monitoring, triaging and stabilization of emergency patients, CPR, compassionate care of patients, in-house lab work, medical record documentation, blood transfusions, oxygen therapy, and more.

Our technicians work all shifts, with evenings, nights and weekends receiving a shift differential. All staff will work some weekends and holidays. Must be licensed in New York State

Requirements:

  • At least two years experience as a technician is preferred, but we will consider those with fewer years of experience for our training program .
  • Required to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Enthusiasm, strong technical skills, attention to details, ability to multi-task and excellent interpersonal skills is a must.
  • Emergency technicians are required to be proficient with small animal restraint and handling, nursing care, venipuncture and IV catheterization, anesthesia monitoring, and general knowledge of veterinary medicine.
  • Responsibilities include: Providing nursing care to our stable hospitalized patients, triaging and stabilizing incoming emergencies, providing treatment to our outpatients, communicating with our clients and providing excellent customer service, and supporting our doctors to provide excellent emergency veterinary care.
