Position Summary:

The Vice President, Food and Beverage is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and operational support to food and beverage outlets across 15 year-round mountain destinations. This position will report to the VP of Strategy to drive the strategic direction of food and beverage functions, encompassing a combination of high-volume cafeterias, bars, coffee shops, fine dining locations, banquets/events, etc. The Vice President will implement strategies to drive sales and profitability and provide direction to F&B leaders across the organization. The position is based out of Denver, CO with frequent travel to resort locations expected.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead initial, and recurring overall assessment of the Company’s Food and Beverage operations across the entire portfolio

  • Assess the needs of any centralized roles needed at the corporate officer to better service the resort F&B operators

  • Identify and implement a consistent framework of key performance indicators (KPIs) to be used across all properties to assess and improve the guest experience and drive profitability growth

  • Regularly report results to the Resort Presidents, corporate operations team, and Executive leaders on a regular basis

  • Provide leadership to find and implement standardized tools (menu creation, inventory management, point-of-sale) to empower resort F&B operators better data for more effective decision making and more efficient operations

  • Visit restaurant locations and provide on-site support and guidance (travel up to 75%)

  • Pilot and launch new initiatives across the F&B portfolio, involving technology, guest experiences, etc.

  • Play a central role in the research, design, and implementation of new F&B concepts and outlet renovations

  • Provide leadership and direction contributing to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring individuals and teams

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in hotel, food & beverage, hospitality, finance or business management, and/or graduate of an accredited culinary institution

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership managing a multi-property food & beverage organization in regional / national capacity

  • In-depth, comprehensive knowledge of an F&B organization including sourcing, pricing, compliance, branding, regulatory, and recruiting across all outlet types

  • Proven experience managing premium-level food & beverage organizations

  • Expertise in profitability analysis and budgeting

  • Knowledge of POS, inventory management, and back-office reporting systems

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $167,000 - $251,000 per year
