Vice President, General Manager Job at VSP Global
Responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and directing the performance and operational functions of the SBU. Oversee the D2C business and strategic plans to ensure profitable benefit plan business within VSP.
Define and recommend objectives in each area of responsibility; develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates
Review and approve the implementation of SBU organizational plans that support the membership, EBITDA, and revenue goals within VSP
Maintain industry knowledge and relationships in order to forecast and respond to the market
Establish strategic direction of business investment trade-off, acquisition, and retention
Assist with innovative ideas to move VSP forward in the market and positively impact our doctors
Work with executives and other SBU leaders on direction and development of the vision care business
Lead sales management in establishing annual goals and plans as well as education and management training
Collaborate with Marketing, Board, and business leaders on development of new products and enhancements to existing products pertaining to the benefits business
Obtain appropriate PLR on risk business as well as appropriate administrative fees for self-funded business
Partner with sales leadership on the attraction, retention, and development of a high-performance workforce
Develop and monitor succession planning process for top leadership positions
Develop top leadership through selection, coaching, and reinforcement
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
10 or more years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading and motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skill
In-depth knowledge of sales, underwriting, products, services, and healthcare industry
Clean DMV record
Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time
Working Conditions
The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
