Job Description:
The Global Supply Chain Leader will transform the supply chain organization into a strategic, forward-looking group capable of driving Enterprise-wide savings, on-time delivery, quality, and consistent, efficient internal processes. The Global Supply Chain Leader will be a trusted partner to the CFO, the business unit presidents, and the executive team to drive initiatives across our well-balanced, financially solid, and rapidly growing global organization. This inspirational leader will:
  • Provide vision and execution of business process improvements and system enhancements for greater control, operating efficiencies, and best practices across the organization;
  • Lead, coach, and develop resources towards better supply chain processes, performance metrics, and business analytics;
  • Partner with the executive leadership team as well as platform and business unit leaders to advance strategic and operational initiatives, primarily in the areas of cost improvement and product/parts standardization;
  • View performance, investments, and improvement initiatives through an Enterprise lens to support resourcing opportunities and leverage business unit partners to drive results;
  • Reinforce financial integrity through oversight of Enterprise level performance, standardized processes and practices, and consistent application of policies.

The Global Supply Chain Leader will lead the supply chain organization with specific focus on:
  • Functional Excellence & Collaboration: Drive the transformation of the supply chain function through structural design, process improvements, and systems application to support an effective and efficient team. Take the lead in establishing supply chain strategies and build teams across business units and functions to support growth and performance improvement. Lead change-management efforts while driving transformational growth within the organization.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Oversee supplier relationship management and contract negotiations, while closely aligning with business unit leadership. Identify and develop supplier relationships with key suppliers based on ongoing business needs as well as strategic goals. Work closely with suppliers and business unit leadership to identify opportunities for innovation and set strategies to deliver.
  • Financial Oversight: Partner with finance and operations leadership to create a comprehensive spend analysis framework and establish short and long-term supply chain budgets for the Enterprise. Oversee training and communication of BI tools to team members to ensure a unified approach to data consistency, terminology, and reporting accuracy. Identify cost reduction strategies through supplier relationship management, driving supply chain team member communication across divisions, leveraging BI tools, and establishing best-in-class sourcing strategies.
  • Optimizing Business Processes: Help prioritize and quarterback opportunities initiated by the collective team with quantified and verified financial objectives and returns; lead teams and direct initiatives to optimize business processes, evaluate “shared service” models, enhance usage of IT systems, leverage IT resources, and drive improved overall supply chain performance;
  • Strategic Planning: Serve as a resource and sounding board that aligns the visions, strategic plans, budgets, and performance of the organization while identifying synergies and joint initiatives; Establish objectives for the supply chain function in conjunction with policies and procedures that impact daily operations as well as the long-term strategic direction of the Enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
The Vice President, Global Supply Chain will possess the following:
  • A successful blend of entrepreneurial disposition and established business experience to effectively lead supply chain leaders through process improvement and transformational growth;
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field with 15 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain leadership;
  • High emotional intelligence, confidence without arrogance, and a propensity to listen first;
  • Executive presence, strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and integrity;
  • Excellent team building and change management skills, with the leadership skillset to recruit, train, coach, and mentor leaders and team members;
  • Strong problem-solving skills; an empathetic demeanor; strategic thinking skills for assessing needs and recommending changes;
  • Successful business and financial experience in a private company business environment or the ability to adapt from a public to private mindset;
  • A strong working knowledge of domestic and international supply chain principles, MRP related operations, financial analysis, business intelligence, and effective business processes across all functions;
  • Experience in a global manufacturing structure, with experience in multi-business/entity, and multi-currency environment; ideally exposed to a complex machine assembly environment;
  • A solid understanding of supply chain and financial reporting software tools and the ability to communicate and work well with IT teams to implement changes and improvements;
  • A demonstrated ability to work with all levels of leadership, collaboratively driving decisions;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, having the ability to convey a message that is clear and concise.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, charismatic, and very comfortable dealing with people from diverse backgrounds.
They will have broad finance and operations experience, including experience with international operations, and will be adept at working with multiple stakeholders to assess strategic needs, deploy resources to the most critical priorities, and balance the needs of acquisition integration, organic and innovation growth, and continuous improvement.
