Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Overview: Responsible for performing painting, minor repairs and scheduled maintenance of equipment for facility and in all areas of the community. Helps maintain preventive maintenance and records on equipment as well as implementation/completion of maintenance requests from residents, administration, and staff. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for performing preventative and routine maintenance as directed
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and performs scheduled maintenance repairs on various appliances and/or equipment throughout the facility (i.e. hot water heater, household appliances, etc.)
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments when necessary
  • Assist in calling vendors/outside services for estimates and ordering supplies and equipment as directed
  • Maintain and respond to fire alarm equipment and nurse on-call system
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently in order to perform job duties
  • Paint and repair walls, doors, woodwork and ceilings
  • Repair and replace wallpaper
  • Assist in ordering supplies and equipment as directed
  • Responsible for keeping work and storage areas neat, organized, and in compliance with state, federal, and local codes
  • Share on-call responsibilities with Facilities team
  • All staff MUST greet resident(s) and announce their presence prior to entering room
  • Attend departmental education and all required in-service training/education
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident/family and facility information
  • Respond to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed
  • Represent the organization through professional demeanor and attitude
  • Provide quality customer service in all interactions with residents, guests and staff
  • Perform other duties as required

You Have:


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • General appliance repair knowledge/skills required
  • 2-3 years in physical plant maintenance preferred
