Position Summary
The Religion Department and Asian Studies Program at Bowdoin College invite applications for a one-year, full-time, visiting assistant professor position in South Asian Religions for the 2023-2024 academic year. The position begins July 1, 2023. PhD required by the time of appointment. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester. Area of specialization is open, but the ability to teach Hindu and Buddhist traditions is required. We are especially interested in applicants whose research focuses on lived religion and engages with one or more of the following themes: gender, sexuality, ethnicity, indigeneity, transnational religious networks, or borderlands studies.
