Primary duties include providing principal administrative support to the KCVB Visitor Services department & special project initiatives. Secondary and additional duties include providing support to the KCVB Welcome Center operations and performing duties as Visitor Information Specialist, as needed. Works fairly independently.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Arranges details of department events & promotions, including soliciting participants and coordinating materials, volunteers and other event duties as needed.
  • Handles correspondence, meeting planning and travel arrangements for the department, as needed. Prioritizes and distributes all incoming correspondence for the department.
  • Promptly respond to all inquiries relating to visitor service & inquiries. Inputs monthly sales leads into database system. Maintain and update database of industry sector leads. Maintain an active reference database of visitor service providers, stakeholders, meeting sites, and dining options.
  • Maintains a well-informed working knowledge of the attractions and services available in the area to visitors and acts as a liaison between these entities and the visitor.
  • Coordinates meeting schedules and attendance for all committees supported by the CVB department, includes maintaining timely correspondence and minutes for meetings.
  • Coordinates collateral material and assists with hospitality item inventory management. Assists in preparations for responding to all CVB inquiries, visitor information requests for fulfillment packets, and group packets.
  • Assists with creation and proofing of newsletters, calendar of events, visitor guides, special programs and other tourism publications.Assist in updating the CVB website and City website as requested.
  • Assist Visitor Service Manager as needed. Staff the front desk at the Welcome Center as scheduled.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.03 - $18.17 per hour
