The Viticulture Technician is responsible for providing general viticultural support, focusing in the areas of scouting and data collection, in support of the Central Coast Estate vineyards, as well as the Decoy, Calera, and Kosta Browne brands and their respective grower vineyards.

What we will ask you to do:
  • Assist in management of viticultural databases, as well as spreadsheets and other management tools.
  • Vineyard Trials – Assist in design, execution, data collection, and interpretation.
  • Technical vineyard work as assigned.
  • Grower support and relations as needed.
  • Harvest duties include supervision of maturity sampling, support in the logistics, picking, and delivery of fruit – may require the operation of large trucks and vineyard equipment.
  • Engage in direct communication with Vineyard Management Companies and Winemaking partners on an as-needed basis.
  • Special projects as assigned.
What you will need:
  • Plant Science or Viticulture/Enology coursework.
  • Excellent computer skills to include Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Must have a clean driving record – may require use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
  • Must be self-starter with strong work ethic and communication skills; this position involves working independently for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work outside for extended lengths of time during periods of extreme weather.
  • Wine industry experience a plus.
