JOB TITLE: VMA Vendor Liaison- Kenmore

REPORTS TO: VMA Director

HOURS: Full Time, Non-exempt 40 hours per week

SALARY: $18.75-$20.19/hr.

JOB SUMMARY: The VMA Vendor Liaison is responsible for conducting field monitoring and training of applicant and contracted vendors (grocery stores and pharmacies) for the Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC) in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.

Additional duties include:

  • The processing of new vendor applications and contract renewals
  • Conducting annual reviews
  • Maintaining vendor files and addressing program concerns related to the WIC shopping experience.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to WIC stakeholders, including vendors and WIC agencies.
  • Adhering to strict timelines per Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Frequent short and long distance travel throughout a 7 county area throughout Western New

York.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Human Services or related field preferred, or two years of work related experience.
  • Fluent in English; Bi-lingual a plus
  • Demonstration of excellent customer service and interpersonal written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Capacity to navigate and maintain up to date records through data entry in the required NY

State database system.

  • Understanding of cultural sensitivity and demonstration to work with diverse groups
  • Skillsets with working in a fast paced environment and ability to adapt to frequent changes
  • Fulfill expectations of advancing professional knowledge and skillsets by attending relevant seminars and/or trainings.
  • Exemplify a demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and delivering services with a trauma-informed and equitable lens
  • Valid NYS Driver License
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds unaccompanied.
  • Must be able to drive long-distances that may occasionally exceed 2 hours of travel
  • Previous retail experience and knowledge a plus.
