VP of Sales

In this role, you will oversee the growth and development of the Sales team at Transeo. You'll be a strategic partner in the company's decision-making, working closely with executive leadership, growth & business development functions.

We've refined our product and have an opportunity to not only be a category leader, but if done right, we can own the category. Your job would be to level us up from an early-stage start-up to a growth-stage business.

You'll report directly to the CEO and have significant discretion over hiring and team growth. Our goal is to use smart revenue planning and team growth to make better product decisions—your job is to take charge of making that happen.

  • Is a playbook builder and optimizer, and is comfortable leading teams and closing opportunities with K-12 School Districts of all sizes and delivering methods
  • Hyper-focused on the entire client lifecycle, managing systems and processes to ensure that we can drive and support rapid growth in the coming months and years

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Deep knowledge of Saas go-to-market strategies
  • Experience selling software solutions to K12 school districts of all sizes and delivery methods or workforce development boards
  • Director or Vice President experience in K-12 EdTech Software Sales leadership
  • Existing relationships with district superintendents across various geographies
  • Track record developing high-growth sales organizations from $2M ARR to $10MM+ ARR
  • Experience defining, coordinating, and optimizing sales processes from end-to-end
    • Inbound/outbound lead generation, through qualification, proposal development, contract negotiation, and client renewal and expansion.
    • Evolving Sales “Tech-Stack” including Salesforce, Pardot, Ring Central
  • Experience managing/mentoring others in your function

Some things you may have done in the past:

  • Built sales organizations to increase business revenue
  • Worked with non-sales functional executives to provide structure and accountability on strategic objectives across the company
  • Managed major school districts contracts until deal closed
  • Implemented data processes in Salesforce to allow for accurate forecasting and pipeline insights

Must-haves:

  • Experience as a Director or Vice President experience in Software Sales leadership role
  • Passion for edtech and/or work-based learning
  • Deep understanding of K-12 sales cycles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Management experience

Nice to haves:

  • Track record leading organizations to meet and exceed goals, particularly in high-growth organizations
  • Prior experience growing a sales/revenue org
  • A proven track record balancing profitability while delivering substantial topline growth
  • Demonstrated success leading, growing, and optimizing sales organizations with accountability for new logo acquisition
  • Experience defining, coordinating, and optimizing sales processes from end-to-end, from inbound/outbound lead generation through qualification, proposal development, contract negotiation, and client renewal and expansion
  • Proven track record partnering with Customer Success, Marketing, and Product to ensure sales efforts are well aligned and integrated with broader organizational resources and strategy
  • Experience developing a compelling narrative to drive sales efforts at various levels within client organizations

Day-to-Day expectations and responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage an aggressive market expansion and revenue growth strategy for the business
  • Optimize and curate the client value proposition and develop monthly, quarterly and annual narratives that demonstrate the efficacy of our product offering across a number of relevant KPIs to drive customer acquisition and engagement
  • Assemble a best-in-class sales team with the appropriate skills, experience, and energy to inspire the culture of customer-focused outcomes throughout the business
  • Manage the team in the ongoing optimization of the enterprise customer funnels, from acquisition through engagement and retention
  • Build adequate top-of-the-funnel and closing velocity to deliver budgeted revenue and growth metrics
  • Drive portfolio growth using strong relationship management and ongoing demonstration of a deep understanding of the value proposition
  • Build, iterate, and optimize the people, systems, and infrastructure to support the long-term goals
  • Ensure all operations, systems, and processes are designed and managed to deliver an exceptional and competitively differentiated client experience at scale with supporting KPIs
  • Implement holistic data intelligence through the introduction of tools, processes, and management around key KPIs and scorecards
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Product teams to deliver and continually improve the product and client experience
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure employees and partners are always focused on driving positive outcomes for our clients

For Pay Transparency: Total on target first year compensation is $300,000.00; includes base salary commensurate with experience and variable compensation reflecting revenue goal accomplishments that increase as thresholds are met. The final offer amount may depend on experience, education, and skills.
