VyStar at Work Business Development Leader
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT The incumbent is responsible for growing retail households through the (VyStar @Work) Financial Wellness Program. This role will focus on business development, sales, service and financial leadership through external sales efforts and member acquisition including establishing and working with centers of influence, current membership base, prospecting and direct sales efforts. The employee will require a strong focus on business development efforts, leading with financial wellness, to help grow membership onsite and virtually at employers, schools/universities, and non-profits. The employee will need to uncover and create partnerships with employers to integrate VyStar into their benefits package to ensure that employees understand the benefits of banking with VyStar.
NOTE - This position will require heavy travel in the following regions: North Florida, Southeast Georgia and Florida Panhandle.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Schedules and manages appointments with current and prospective business members regarding VyStar @Work products and services.
  • Responsible to collaborate with Business Services, Lending, Retail, VyStar Investment Services, Marketing, VyStar Insurance Agency and other LOBs to conduct joint calls and grow the credit unions membership base.
  • Conduct financial education/wellness presentations for employees of participating businesses to expand and generate relationships with VyStar in their designated area.
  • Promote and cross sell products and services offered by the credit union.
  • Support and provide leadership, coaching, training, and support for retail employees, including joint calling, to ensure all employees are familiar with the VyStar @Work Program.
  • Responsible to integrate retail and business banking teams for seamless delivery of the member experience.
  • Proactively provide member solutions through center of influence and business partner referrals.
  • Meet or exceed established expectations around presentations and cross sale goals.
  • Generate, manage, and maintain a sales pipeline and book of business of employers to help grow retail households.
  • Conducts outside and virtual business calls and conducts presentations in and outside of the branch and virtually to enhance the growth and profitability of all business units and the credit union. Generates new membership applications onsite and virtually utilizing VyStar Excellence to uncover member needs.
  • Develop proactive sales plans to maximize the growth and retention of all VyStar @Work clients and service members. Manage sales processes and procedures for all onsite employees while ensuring an exceptional member experience is provided to all existing and potential members.
  • Deliver effective VyStar @Work value promise to key decision makers of participating and prospective businesses.
  • Develops a regional VyStar @Work strategic plan to communicate and implement direction of the program within assigned territory consistent with VyStar’s annual business plan and strategic vision.
  • Exemplifies leadership with civic, not-for-profit, charitable and service organizations with the local market to support the VyStar brand.
  • Lead by example in creating an inclusive and professional environment where all team members are respected, and diversity is valued.
  • Support the implementation of plans for the VyStar @Work Program, ensuring high-quality participant experience, ongoing program sustainability and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Takes independent action in reviewing and applying policy and procedure in the daily operation of the position and to exercise good judgment in determining action.
  • Adheres to solid risk management guidelines in a highly regulated environment.
  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Guides and directs proper application of procedures and policies by staff at onsite and virtual events to achieve quality service, improve productivity, maintain confidentiality and security controls, which will provide positive response to member’s requests for services. Reviews and approves or instructs staff in processing exceptional or extraordinary transactions or responding to members who request services outside of established policies and procedures. Receives and investigates complaints as the lead at onsite and virtual events.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • 3+ years working banking, sales or financial-related work experience in business development, cold calling, or lead generation.
  • Advanced PC proficiency: Intermediate skill in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Previous experience with an CRM Platform (i.e Salesforce)
  • Proficient experience with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, WebEx, and or BlueJeans.
  • Previous experience with SharePoint sites.
  • Ability to master and deliver Financial Well-Being presentations.
EDUCATION
  • Associate degree preferred, or equivalent combination of 2 years of sales / business development training or experience for one year of college education.
  • Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) preferred but not required
