CANTEEN VENDING SALES MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Manager

DEPARTMENT: Canteen Vending

SUPERVISOR: Canteen Vending General Manager

SUPERVISEES: Warehouse Personnel

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership and management to Warehouse Operations effective in inventory planning and control; the efficient and accurate loading of trucks; and leadership and development of the personnel in the warehouse.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair, and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by selecting, onboarding, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Ordering products needed for vending.
  • Works with suppliers to maintain and negotiate cost of products.
  • Counts and balances vending routes cash and make daily deposits.
  • Orders all supplies needed for warehouse employees.
  • Accountable for all product rotation and spoils.
  • Assist warehouse employees when needed and cover vacation time for warehouse employees as needed.
  • Assist with delivery routes when needed.
  • Receive in-coming orders into warehouse system.
  • Accountable for warehouse organization and cleanliness.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of warehouse related experience involving distribution of food/beverage products a plus.
  • Forklift Certified or get certified within one month of employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations and distribution.
  • Must have good communication skills to effectively deal with different functional managers.
  • Excellent prioritizing and organizational skills, and good decision making skills.
  • Strong Excel and PC skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching repeatedly.
  • Long periods of standing, sitting and walking.
  • Extreme hot, cold temperatures depending on the weather.
