SUMMARY:

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned warehouse(s) including, leading a team of professionals, receiving, ordering, storage and shipping of manufactured goods. This role also has responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of assigned warehouse(s) and storage areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily supervision and leadership to an assigned team of shipping and receiving personnel to ensure efficient operations in accordance with business requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers utilizing professionalism, clear communication and company core values as guiding principles.
  • Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
  • Ensures assigned loads are loaded in a timely manner in accordance with assigned times.
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify the appropriate personnel (internal and external) for service or repair.
  • Evaluate and prepare shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Conduct regular reporting to ensure ongoing communication with leadership teams and vendors.
  • Communicate with carriers in regards to freight readiness.
  • Lead incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
  • Plan layout of warehouse(s), and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of assigned warehouse(s) and storage areas to include reporting and management of damaged equipment.
  • Provide guidance and leadership on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • In collaboration with the leadership team, review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow; plan and coordinate inventory analysis as needed.
  • Assigns work and supervises to ensure policies and procedures designed and adopted by the company are followed.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety concerns to management.
  • Conduct inspections of warehouse procedures and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, optimum utilization and performs work safely and in compliance with OSHA policies.
  • Other duties assigned.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSE:

  • Non-expired CDL preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a warehousing is preferred.
  • Two years of successful first-line supervisor experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports. Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and leading employees; addressing conflict resolution and providing workforce success opportunities for team members.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid conditions and heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock and exposure to extreme molten plastic temperature. The employee is frequently exposed to height of 8-10 feet and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
