The Stockroom Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, picking jobs ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, managing inventory levels, cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and supervising staff. The Stockroom Supervisor actively engages to develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies to improve department efficiency, reduce cost, and exceed internal customer expectations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Supervises stockroom staff and daily activities.
  • Manages, evaluates, and reports on stockroom productivity.
  • Coordinates the receipt of supplier shipments, ensures the material is put away in the proper locations, and assist in resolving any discrepancy.
  • Ensures the adherence to the kitting schedule and monitors the backfill of the stock outs.
  • Implements and maintains KPI’s to measure kits delivered on time, inventory levels, cycle count accuracy, stock outs, etc.
  • Responsible to pull parts orders and service kits, and improve OTIF
  • Ensures the transactions are performed correctly in the ERP system (Glovia).
  • Review cycle counts results; works with Finance on cycle count audits.
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies, performs root cause analysis on inventory adjustments and implements measurements to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assists in Kanban and Supermarket implementation.
  • Reviews and promotes and maintains safety and 5S standards.
  • Writes procedures for standard work and provides proper training to the employees.
  • Plans, promotes, and organizes department training activities to ensure employees receive the appropriate training for the performance of their job functions as it relates to area responsibility initiatives
  • Preform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor preferably in a union environment
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with coworkers effectively while driving change.
  • Glovia or prior ERP experience is a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
EDUCATION:
  • Associates degree. Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field from an accredited university preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment with supervisory experience
  • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodology
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION:
  • Direct the supervision up to 5 employees.
  • Perform annual performance appraisals on a timely basis.
  • Lead team to work in a safe manner, maintain and improve 5S and comply with safety policies and standards.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone, 70 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
