Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be responsible for training all new and existing employees on the proper and safe forklift operations.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Provides training for individual or group settings to new hire as well as tenured employees
  • (i.e. forklift operator, etc.).
  • Create benchmarks to be achieved through training methods and create training plans.
  • Conducts skill needs assessments to identify specific skill/knowledge gaps, training objectives, work situations and changes in training policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates trainings and re-certifications, ensuring training is designed, delivered and evaluated for consistency.
  • Observe employees to determine the effectiveness of training programs and ensure that any additional training requirements are fulfilled.
  • Document each training program and module properly and provide follow up for refresher training courses.
  • Determine that trainees are aware of order accuracy procedures and conformity at each stage of the training.
  • Exhibit and practice positive communications and team building skills with trainees to ensure a consistently professional environment.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and Safety Supervisor.
  • Maintain a training log with trainees.
  • Functions as a team member within the department and as required, perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area
  • Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations

Position Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Certified forklift operator.
  • Competent in all aspects of operating a forklift (both sit down and stand up), reach truck and other Powered Industrial Equipment in a warehouse setting
  • Experience with MS Office as well as ERP, such as SAP
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
