Job Description:
Warner Music Group’s HBCU Intensive Program in collaboration with Culture Creators is a one (1) week dynamic and interactive program designed to prepare HBCU students for a career in the music industry. During the first three (3) days of the program, students will move through a Culture Creators curriculum that explores Professional Development, Marketing, A&R, Business Development, Licensing, and Presentation & Public Speaking Skills. Students will receive a comprehensive introduction to the music business, guidance on career development, and have opportunities to learn from and engage with WMG leaders. Upon completing the Culture Creators curriculum, students will participate in additional networking and development opportunities with WMG leaders and team members. This program is a paid experience. Housing subsidies will also be provided to support relocation to one of the following locations: New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, or Nashville.

Upon joining the Warner Music Group HBCU Intensive Program, students are fully immersed in a dynamic and impactful experience. They receive “real-time” music industry experience, mentorship from WMG leaders, and engaging learning opportunities through Culture Creators. Additionally, students who successfully complete the Culture Creators curriculum, will have an opportunity to intern at a Warner Music Group office location in NYC, Miami, LA, or Nashville. A housing subsidy will be provided to accepted students.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applications submitted without all the required supporting documents will not be considered.
  • Rising college sophomore attending an accredited Historically Black College and University (HBCU)
  • Student would have completed enough academic credits to be considered a Sophomore by August 2023.
  • Professional Resume - It is strongly recommended that you submit a PDF version of your resume to avoid formatting errors.
  • One (1) Academic/Professional Recommendation Letter
  • Personal Statement (300-500 words) - Please share why you’re interested in the HBCU Intensive Program and how this opportunity will enrich your professional and academic endeavors. Be sure to highlight any relevant professional skills, experiences, and qualifications in your response.
  • Short Answer Response (250 to 300 words) - You will need to select and answer one of the following questions:
  • Describe your favorite genre(s) of music and why?
  • Tell us what Warner Music artist (former/current) you listen to and what draws you to that artist and their music.
Ideal Students:
  • A self–starter with a passion and curiosity for the music industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through with assignments
It would be music to our ears if you also had:
  • Professional goals that align with Warner Music Group’s core values and business objectives
  • A strong passion for and knowledge of the music industry
  • Leadership experience on or off campus
Salary Range
This is a paid experience and accepted students will receive a $1,500 - $2,000 stipend for their participation.
Salary Ranges are included for all NY, California job postings and 100% remote roles where talent can be located. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
