Garrison Disposal/Nisswa Sanitation is looking for a hardworking CDL driver to join us. We specialize in residential and commercial waste services and pride ourselves on being a Mom and Pop style utility company. This driver is a key player in being able to drive any/all of our company waste vehicles doing commercial, residential and roll-off waste pick ups. The ideal candidate loves driving commercial vehicles and has a good track record for safety. You will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously serving our customers. A typical schedule for this position is Monday – Friday approximately 50-55 hour work week. This position is full-time, year round in either our Aitkin, Minnesota location OR our Brainerd, Minnesota location.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules. OSHA and DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and documents checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report.).
• Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street, alleyways or potential safety hazards.
• Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement
• Completes and submits customer tickets as required.
• Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and the check out process.
• Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Required:

• Valid Class A or B CDL
• 1-3 years experience (preferably in a driver position)
• Able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions

Preferred:

• Garbage Truck experience is a PLUS!!!
