We are looking for an Water and Sewage Plant Operator I that has knowledge and experience of the following: Licensed Water and Sewage Plant Operator I that can operate a water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant.
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
We are looking for an Water and Sewage Plant Operator I that has knowledge and experience of the following: Licensed Water and Sewage Plant Operator I that can operate a water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant.
Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Operate all pumps and provide necessary maintenance of pumps
- Clean all filters, settling basin & all operating equipment
- Maintain all operating equipment
- Collect water and/or wastewater samples and perform tests using chemicals, adding prescribed amounts of chemicals and gases to water and/or effluent
- Inspect gauges and record information
- Maintain records and reports and submits reports as requested
- Performs other general maintenance on related equipment and work areas.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have one year in the operation of a water and/or sewage plant.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must have a valid Class I (or higher) water treatment operator's license and/or a Class I (or higher) wastewater operator's license as issued by the Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet. https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/kar/titles/401/005/010/ Must maintain any required licensure (s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency s responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Works outside in all types of weather conditions.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
