Position Summary
Tends semiautomatic wax molding machine that produces wax patterns used in lost wax casting process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Supervisor may assign other duties.


  • Retrieve wax injection tooling from tool storage, soluble or wax as required. Ensure that
    the J/N and P/N stamped / engraved on the tooling is correct and matches the work order and wax technique.
  • Sprays interior surface of die with parting agent. Places die against stops in bed of machine and starts machine that forces melted wax into die by injection or centrifugal process. Loosens pattern from die removes pattern from die and inspects it for defects. Cleans excess wax from pattern. Inject patterns and visually inspect for non‐fill, flow lines, sink, air bubbles, etc.
  • If patterns are unacceptable, minor adjustments to the technique may be necessary.
  • Disassembly/Assembly of wax injection tooling shall be per numbered sequence engraved
    on each section of wax tool. Wax injection tooling shall be manufactured and identified
    by sequence numbers in such a way as to prevent incorrect assembly and disassembly.
  • Upon completion of the production run, all tooling shall be cleaned, lubricated and
    properly bolted for storage. Inspect mold for any damage and report to Supervisor.

  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Minimal- The employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



This position is a 2nd shift position from 4pm- 12:30am.
8 hours per day, overtime if needed. Weekends depending on department demands.
