Job Overview:

Reports to Welding Foreman
Supervises Welder Helpers-Welder Storeman-Welders

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning the welding procedure qualifications and production, as instructed by the Welding Foreman
• Ensure sufficient tools and supplies are available onboard to allow the welding work to be performed timely and efficiently
• Ensure that all welding is done in accordance with approved procedures
• Conduct daily Tool Box Meetings
• Ensure tools are maintained in safe working condition
• Use TRAs and Tool Box Meetings to eliminate unsafe acts and reduce frequency and number of injuries
• Ensure subordinates do not make or utilize homemade tools
• Ensure welding leads and gas hoses are run in a congestion free and safe manner
• Any other duties as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Welder Foreman
• Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with the established HSES Safety standards and Work practices
• Following all company policies and procedures, and ensuring subordinates do the same.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• High school graduate
• Previous experience with welding and pipelay systems
• 1 year previous as fitter, and 2 years as welder
