The weld trainer is responsible for developing and administering a weld training program for current employees of Excel Industries as well as new hires and transfers.
Essential Duties:
- Administer weld tests for employment applicants. (Approx.10%)
- Develop welding training including handouts, evaluations, quizzes, videos, new tools, and equipment. (Approx.35%)
- Provide recurrent or advanced training, including safety measures, to current welders and those working to transfer into a welding position. (Approx.10%)
- Work with management to update current welding practices and equipment. (Approx.10%)
- Ensure that the weld training cell has appropriate equipment and materials and is clean. (Approx.10%)
- Knowledge on how to train new employees on lasers, fab rollers, press brakes (10%)
- Help build training curriculum for fab duties for all fab machines (5%)
- Update new employees’ spreadsheet on 3-week documentation program for new employees in weld and fab (5%)
- Run new employees through fab safety procedures (5%)
Education:
- High School or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years of welding experience preferred
- Must have above average communication skills
- Must have the ability to coach and teach
- Must have the ability to follow standard work blueprints
