Wellhead Technician, Levels II and III
JOB DESCRIPTION – Shop/Field Technicians are responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of pressure control equipment on Oil and Gas storage and production wells.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete Build sheet / Field Service Tickets / Job Safety Analysis / Time Cards and other administrative forms as required
  • Maintain professional behavior and appearance while carrying out services and tasks when representing GLW.
  • Install and/or remove equipment in accordance with applicable technical procedures Assemble, disassemble, test equipment in performance of advanced troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Specific tasks to include:
  • Greasing and Operation of Large Bore Frac Valves.
  • Maintenance and repair of support equipment(Generators, Compressors, Accumulators, Grease Manifolds)
  • Pressure Testing and Charting
  • Installation of Conventional, Multi-Bowl and Uni-bowl Wellhead systems
  • Landing and Testing of Tubing Strings
  • Understanding of Flange Torque Operations and Equipment
  • Running and Setting of Mandrel and Slip Style Casing Hangers
  • Field Cut Casing with Mechanical Cutter as well as Torch (Cold and Hot cuts)
  • Must be available on 24 hr call basis to respond to customer needs
  • Must be able to travel to Great Lakes Wellhead, Inc., locations to perform shop and field tasks as required by customer demands in each branch.
  • Know and understand company Quality, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Great Lakes Wellhead, Inc.
  • Carry out work assignments to the highest quality level.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Preferred but not required: 1-3 years related Oilfield experience- Previous practical Wellhead knowledge preferred
  • Required: Valid driver’s license
  • Required: Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to demonstrate field/shop competencies in Wellhead mechanical assembly
  • Good oral and written communication skills Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Able to work closely with fellow employees
  • Physically able to perform Shop & Field service work.
