Summary of Duties:

Under the guidance of the Bee Program leadership, the WSU Bee Program Administrator will lead and manage the administrative day to day operations of the WSU Bee Program in Othello, WA. This role will develop and manage relationships between the honey bee and pollinator research laboratories at WSU and beekeepers, stakeholders, donors, foundations, granting agencies, collaborators and other associates. The Program Administrator will work to increase the visibility of the program at the local, regional, and national levels. Working alongside various colleagues, the Program Administrator will support the mission of the WSU Bee Program.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Bachelor's degree must be in Business, Finance, English, or related field
  • Must be able and willing to travel during any season.
  • Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • While using a private vehicle for official business, the incumbent will have current automobile liability insurance (meeting the requirements described in RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090) and will possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in writing and publishing, preferably in agricultural or scientific arenas.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality printed and electronic communication materials, including the writing, editing, and graphic design/production thereof.
  • Experience in print production software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Experience with web design and design software.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. This is a temporary position expected to end after 2 years from the start date. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
