Full-time position

Reflects the mission and values of the Sisters of St Francis of Philadelphia in carrying out job responsibilities and in all interactions with young adults, sisters, companions, coworkers, those with whom we serve, and external publics.

Collaborates with the Charism Engagement Minister, the Director of Franciscan Companions in Mission, and others to research, develop, and implement creative young adult engagement initiatives expressing our Franciscan charism, spirituality and values in response to contemporary needs.

Coordinates efforts to build relationships with young adults in various ways, including social media, virtual programs, and in-person events and activities.

Maintains relationships and regular communications with existing and new young adult participants, maintains accurate contact and expense records.

Develops relationships and regular communication with related networks, including an advisory council, support persons, and community partners.

Becomes and/or stays informed of current trends related to young adult ministry, faith-based service, integral ecology, and the contemporary Franciscan movement.

Collaborates with the Charism Engagement Minister in networking with related organizations such as Franciscan Service Network, Catholic Volunteer Network, Franciscan Federation, and community partners to deepen relationships, exchange ideas, broaden perspectives, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Experience working with young adults and/or service as a volunteer in a faith-based program (such as Franciscan Volunteers, Franciscan Mission Service, JVC, etc.)

Some college credits; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.

Basic understanding of theology and Catholic Social Teaching; experience with and/or interest in Franciscan spirituality and tradition.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including using social media platforms.

Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills, including a welcoming and inclusive manner in relating with others; treats all persons with dignity and respect.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team; is able to multi-task and manage multiple projects. Demonstrates sound judgment and decision- making skills.

Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Word and Power Point, Zoom, and relevant social media platforms.

Has leadership potential, including creativity, organizational skills, intercultural competencies and/or critical thinking.

Is able to be flexible with work schedule, including working some evenings and weekends during young adult-related events/activities; one day remote work negotiable.

Current driver’s license; is willing and able to drive and/or travel to attend work-related meetings and events.
