Rawhide Youth Services is hiring a Young Life Program Manager at our New London, WI location to support the spiritual needs of our residential youth by introducing youth to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith; developing and leading activities that encourage spiritual growth/wellness; building positive relationships with youth; creating a warm, non-judgmental environment where youth are noticed, cared for, and feel like they belong.

Essential Job Functions for Young Life Program Manager:

• Lead the continuous development and implementation of Young Life programming to meet the spiritual needs of youth
• Building strong and healthy relationships with at-risk youth, meeting them at their level and encouraging them grow in all 7 dimensions of wellness
• Develop and lead the Rawhide Young Life Community consisting of houseparent mentors, Rawhide staff volunteers, and community volunteers.
• Organize/engage in recreational activities with youth in alignment with Young Life program
• Meet with clients for informal contacts and visit the residential units regularly, including mealtimes and activities
• Participate in Young Life Staff trainings and certifications
• Lead coordination and program for Rawhide Staff Fellowship meeting
• Builds a mentoring relationship and engages in teachable moments with youth

Qualifications for Young Life Program Manager:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministries/Therapeutic Recreation/Behavioral Sciences or the relevant equivalent or
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in youth ministry, youth recreation, or youth mentoring with at-risk youth
• Prior experience working with Young Life preferred
• Prior experience leading a team preferred
• Able to articulate and evidence Christian doctrine and ethics
• Holding to and promoting an ecumenical view of collaboration and unity across Christian denominations and traditions
• Must be in agreement with both Rawhide’s and Young Life’s Statement of Faith documents
• Must be aligned with both Rawhide’s and Young Life’s values and mission statements
• Must be a minimum of 25 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Exercises critical thinking, judgment and discernment
• Ability to identify and respond to crisis situations
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
• Physically able to meet the demands of the position, including providing therapeutic physical restraints
