This position manages the Zero Hour Returns (ZHR’s) process to drive a step change in the ZHR investigation progression. This new position will be managing the process and workflow through influence on existing resources requiring coordination for inspection, customer approvals as necessary, assembly, and test. The chosen candidate should be able to establish long-term objectives that support the improvement and innovation of cell performance, productivity, scheduling, and sequencing of work from the data analysis of returned units.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages and ensures all quality related items for the units are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met.
  • Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the handling of ZHR units and process to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Leads and follow up the scheduling activities for the ZHR units to ensure that operations adhere to established schedule and commitment with the program and/or the customers.
  • Leads the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery (as applicable), for the ZHR unit to ensure smooth processing and optimal use of resources.
  • Leads materials and logistics problem resolution for the ZHR units to ensure availability of materials and minimize/avoid delays.
  • Establishes performance objectives and productivity for the ZHR process management activities
  • Leads innovation and continuous improvement efforts for the efficient and effective processing of ZHR units.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for the implementation of Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.
  • Facilitates Preventative & Corrective actions based on the inputs obtained from the ZHR units analysis concurrently with the internal quality organizations (Design, Operations, and Supply Chain)
  • Responsible for tracking customer impact issues and RCCA investigations.
  • Responsible for coordination of customer quality interface including customer reviews, audits, and senior level presentations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science and 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Candidate must be a U.S Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or hard science discipline (or related field).
  • Five (5) years of experience in either a quality, supply chain, operations, hard science, or other position dealing with manufacturing quality process techniques, quality improvement programs and customer satisfaction, preferred.
  • Quality certifications are desired (FAA, ASQ CQE, AS9100, etc.)
  • CQE Certified Quality Engineer is preferred.
  • FAA and conformity are a plus.
