POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Associate Recruiter provides essential support in sourcing, attracting, and onboarding talent to advance Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship’s mission of preparing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders through innovative, applied business education. Working closely with the HR team and hiring managers, this role assists in managing the recruitment process, coordinating candidate interactions, and ensuring a smooth and positive experience for both applicants and hiring managers. This position is detail-oriented, service-minded, and eager to learn all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding cycle, while also assisting with broader HR administrative functions.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in Higher Education and a strong understanding of the Buffalo, NY applicant pool. We are seeking an organized, resourceful professional with excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS/ATS systems are highly valued, along with professionalism, discretion, and adaptability. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by building diverse candidate pipelines and ensuring fair, inclusive recruitment practices. Equally important, this individual will excel at developing relationships with faculty, staff, and leadership to foster a collaborative, community-driven HR environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment Coordination & Support (40%) – Post job descriptions, schedule interviews, maintain applicant tracking systems, and support hiring managers and candidates throughout the recruitment process. Assist with preparing offer letters and onboarding documentation. Includes Internal and External recruitment coordination and support.
Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Support (20%) – Assist in sourcing candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, networking, and career fairs. Support talent pipeline initiatives for staff, faculty, and student worker positions, with a focus on building diverse candidate pools.
Onboarding Assistance (15%) – Coordinate onboarding schedules, prepare new hire packets, and ensure smooth transitions for new employees in collaboration with HR and hiring managers.
Process, Compliance & HR Administrative Support (15%) – Assist in maintaining recruitment records, ensuring compliance with HR policies and employment laws, supporting employee file management, and providing general administrative assistance across HR functions (benefits, training coordination, HR communications).
